Irish postal services provider An Post specialises in parcel and mail logistics, omnichannel financial services and high street retailing. Now consumers across Ireland can reap the benefits of financial wellness coaching – the An Post network covers 920 post offices, serving more than 1.5 million customers per week.

Personal finance management tech made easy

Using Tink’s open banking technology, An Post’s smart budgeting tool securely links all the current accounts and credit cards a customer may hold with all major banks in one place. This means a deeper understanding and more holistic view of their financial behaviour – over longer periods of time.

Completely personalised, it allows people to better manage their savings and set budgets to stay on track with their financial goals. When using the An Post Money app, users set up their own limits, which triggers handy spending and budget alerts in line with their goals. App users also receive insight into unusual transaction patterns and can organise spending into different categories to map and track on an ongoing basis – helping to reduce financial surprises.

"In the current economic climate, people are understandably on the lookout for tools to help them understand and track their spending. The expansion of our partnership with An Post means that anyone with a bank account in Ireland or those with multiple accounts can now use their open banking powered money management app to access real-time insights into their financial circumstances," says Tasha Chouhan, UK & IE Banking Director at Tink. ‘At a time when many are struggling with their day-to-day finances, this will add considerable value to customers – putting power back into their hands and allowing them to make informed financial decisions.’

"Our recent research shows people in Ireland feel a lack of financial control, as they try to keep afloat during challenging times. In fact, almost nine-in-ten (87%) over 18s have expressed financial concerns for the year ahead,’ continues Bruce Richardson, Senior Manager Change at An Post. ‘We are proud to expand our existing partnership with Tink – allowing anyone with a bank account in Ireland to use our engaging money management tools. This enables us to provide people with a real-time view of their financial situation, with features which will help users to improve their financial situation."

Existing An Post Money customers simply use their ten-digit User ID to access the app once downloaded. All new customers need to do is download the An Post Money app from App Store or Google Play, then link their accounts to get started.
